Conflict rarely comes out of nowhere.
Dogs are almost always communicating long before a growl, bark, lunge, or other unwanted reaction occurs. The challenge is that most people have never been taught how to listen.
Whether it's tension between dogs, discomfort around unfamiliar people, challenges with guests in the home, or simply a situation that becomes too much, there are often subtle signs that a dog is becoming overwhelmed. Learning to recognize those signals can completely change the outcome.
Summer can be an especially challenging season for many dogs. We're spending more time outdoors, attending events, traveling, camping, and bringing our dogs into a wider variety of social situations. From an Ayurvedic perspective, summer is also associated with rising heat (both in the environment and within the body) which can contribute to increased reactivity, frustration, and overstimulation.
In this free live class, Amanda and Canine Julz will explore what's happening in both the mind and body when tension begins to build, how to recognize it early, and what you can do to help prevent conflict before it occurs.
