Hey there human!

I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Benny and I’m a 3 yr old terrier mix. Hearing my mom or dad say my name with love and happiness in their voice is one of my favorite things ever, and I just want to run towards that sound! When I hear it said in anger, frustration, or annoyance – you better believe I want to run in the opposite direction. That’s why sometimes I come when I’m called and sometimes, not so much. It’s the simple things like that you humans often need a bit of help understanding. And that’s what I’m here to do!

My mom Amanda asked me to help you guys out and be your host, giving you some insider information to teach you a thing or two about us dogs. Personally I think this is a great idea because oh boy, dogs and humans sure can have some communication problems. You see, we dogs love our human companions and want to please you guys – hearing you tell us we are a good boy or girl is just about the most tail-wag worthy thing in the world. But doing what you want can be hard when you ask us in a way we don’t understand. That’s where I come in.

Plus, I’ll help you guys understand what we’re asking too! The thing is, we don’t care what you look like, what kind of clothes you wear, or how expensive your car is (as long as the windows roll down, we’re good). All we want from you is to understand what we need.

So my plan with the blog is to shed some light on why we dogs do the things we do – why it is so much fun to sniff butts, why it is absolutely essential to never make eye contact with the cat, why we sometimes get so sad when you leave and have to (loudly) let all the neighbors know how we feel. Then I’ll give some insider tips, often with an Ayurvedic spin, to help you meet our needs so we don’t feel it necessary to chew up your favorite, most delicious pair of shoes.

When you have a better understanding of who we are and how to interact with us, we can be a much better and happier companion to you.

So stay tuned and in the meantime if you want more tail wags from us, I suggest you sign-up for our community and we'll keep in touch. I highly recommend you attend one of my mom’s classes as soon as your human legs can carry you – I might even come and join you!

With love, on behalf of somewhat misunderstood canines everywhere,

Benny
